CubeTalk Specials with Kirk Acevedo

Kirk co-founded Zomia with a friend who is 15 years older and came to Zomia with two successful startups under his belt. His talk will focus on what it's like to reconcile competing visions between founders of different ages and skill sets, and how the friction that arose from those different visions made Zomia stronger. It's a talk for anyone who's interested in the rollercoaster ride that is starting a company with someone else.

About Kirk Acevedo

Before starting Zomia, Kirk was a college student and Peace Corps volunteer with the U.S. government in Cambodia. Frustrated with the lack of financial services available to students in Southeast Asia, he partnered with a friend in 2013 to start Zomia. Zomia is a crowdfunding platform that facilitates life-changing higher education loans for students from marginalized communities in Southeast Asia. Zomia is Kirk's first company and to date it's facilitated loans valued at over $230,000 to 64 students in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Thailand.
